Important

The Orphalese Tarot is written to run on something called the .NET Framework, so you will need to upgrade to .NET if you have not done so already. You can do this by running a free upgrade program from Microsoft. Click here to find a link to this, and to learn more about .NET.

If you install the program from a CD you can miss out this step.

This program is free to download and evaluate. There is no time limit to the evaluation period, but registering the program unlocks some extra features.

The Orphalese Tarot setup files come in three flavours. All of them install the same version of the program, the difference is in the decks that come with them. All of them are free to download and evaluate for as long as you like.

The Classic Edition of the Orphalese Tarot comes with two decks designed by our in house graphic art expert, F.J.Campos: the Imperatrix Tarot and the Traditional Tarot.

The Aeclectic Tarot Community Edition contains the third and fourth Aeclectic Tarot Decks, complete with commentaries by the many artists who worked on the project, and a special background designed for the program

The Tarot of Dreams Edition includes the popular deck of the same name by Ciro Marchetti, with accompanying notes by Lee Bursten, and a special background designed for the program by the artist.

The download consists of a zip file. Follow the link and choose the option 'save to disk'. Choose where to save the file. It doesn't matter where, as long as you remember where you saved it. After the download is complete extract the contents of the zip file (right click the file and choose 'extract to...'). The zip file contains a number of files, including one called 'Setup.exe'. Double click this file to start the installation.

Windows 98
Important: The Orphalese Tarot is no longer compatible with Windows 98. If you are using Windows 98 and would like to try the program, there is a link below to download version 7.6.2 - the last version of the program to support it.

The upgrade is identical to the main installation except in that it does not contain any tarot decks. Uninstall the previous version first (this may happen automatically). Decks, spreads and readings will be unaffected by removing the program.

The executables file includes the bare minimum for running the program. It is available here for the benefit of people who have trouble installing via Windows Installer. You won't be able to share decks on the Deck Exchange.

These are the files from the CD which can be ordered from www.orphalese.net. The files contain an InstallShield setup program which installs the .NET Framework where necessary as well as an unregistered copy of the Orphalese Tarot. Please feel at liberty to download these files and make CDs to give away free as presents.
